I am really disappointed in the Glycerin 21. I have worn these shoes for years, but I have been in an order and return routine with Brooks because both pairs I have tried so far have this huge dent in the right shoe’s toebox. I have found a handful of complaints about it from other people as well. The dent rubs the big toe, so it isn’t something I can ignore. I was considering trying the stealth fit instead but this review makes me think that isn’t a great idea because I really value the toebox space. So I am going to try the ghost max instead.

Can u recommend any new balance max cushioned stabilty shoes?

I just got the gly 20. It’s the most comfortable trainer I’ve ever had on. Highly recommend. I paid $109 on Amazon

waiting for the review on the Hyperion GTS 2

I liked the OG Hyperion Max much more than the Hyperion Tempo/OG Hyperion, but I’m disappointed that they beefed it up and added a plate. Won the new midsole compound, I think the Hyperion 2 will be a better option for me and will fill the role of the OG Hyperion Max…maybe even better so.

I also felt that the heel grip was lacking but it didnt slip. I tried to go down half a size but the reinforcements around the toebox was rubbing against my big toes. Dunno why they use så stiff material there, absurd

I think I’m gonna go with the GTS version of the Hyperion 2 for my 5K races. I love the lightweight and GTS guidance.

I think I'm one of the minority who is more excited about the Hyperion 2. I really liked the Hyperion Max and this one seems really similar except for the new foam, better upper, and less aggressive heel bevel.

Hi Matt! I know that you're using Asics size 13 (30.5 cm). Is your foot length 28.5 or 28 cm? I'd like to know the space between your big toe and the toe cap, which is kinda stiff.

Hi Matt B, I bought Kayano 30 Size 13 Extra Wide. My foot length is 28.5 cm so the size 30.5 cm (Asics Size 13) is perfect. But im afraid my big toes might hit the rigid toe cap. Do you experience that? I havent tried running on my Kayano 30 Size 13 (30.5 cm) because I plan to sell it and buy the Size 14 (31 cm).

Sooo… this is the Triumph 22 + Guide 17 hybrid? If so, where does it separate itself?

Do you feel plate at all? 2mm isn't very much extra foam, usually the plated shoes have more stack. How would it compare to Endorphin Speed 4 with it's nylon plate?

How do they compare to the guide 17. I also found those to be too controlling for running but comfortable and aesthetically pleasing enough to make for a banging casual shoe.

I have one and I mainly use it as a shoe that I wear daily. I would work out in these.

I like them for the fact they add a little weight while I exercise. Like an added ankle weight. Great trainer shoe. Throw on the lighter kicks when it’s game time! Zip on em

Great and honest review, thanks. I actually felt the same with the "heel issue", a little tighter and more "secure" fit in the 30. I ordered the Kayano 30 right before I saw this video, which I don´t regret. Buth otherwise the 31 is really comfortable, and seem at least as good as the 30..

How is the length in the toe box? I usually wear an 11 in ASICS and Hoka, but feel like Nike’s usually run short?

That midfoot piece isn't a more dense piece of foam. The way it was explained to me is that it's a bouncier, more responsive compound (and it feels that way if you push into it with your fingers). The thought is that it will help your foot push though the pronation phase of your stride; as a result allowing your foot less time to pronate. I don't know how much of that is just marketing speak, but it's pretty comfortable and doesn't feel posted, and it seems to work.
